Born in Atlanta, GA, JoAnn attended the University of Alabama on a music scholarship and graduated from Georgia State University with a BA in psychology/music magna cum laude. After some coursework toward an MBA, she changed directions, went to polygraph school and worked as a polygraph examiner for several years, including owning her own company. Ever entreprenurial, she also had fun owning and and operating a video arcade. She settled into the Corporate environment working for CIGNA Healthcare for the next 15 years, in human resources, marketing, and finally in contract negotiations. In 2000 she visited Naples, loved it, and relocated in 2001, beginning her real estate career later that year.
JoAnn's education in psychology, and reading behavior as a polygraph examiner, and work experience in difficult contract negotiations, and her detail-oriented temperament coupled with excellent listening skills and dedication to her clients and helping them best achieve their goals, have served her well. After 15 years as a full-time year-round Naples Realtor, she has a wealth of knowledge of the Naples marketplace and a finely-honed ability to match the right property to a client. Drawing from her marketing background, her exceptional writing skills, utilization of fine art photography, and willingness to go the extra mile in advertising and networking for her clients, she receives repeated praise from sellers whose homes she has successfully sold. (Client references are available upon request.) JoAnn's work ethic is unsurpassed; she's available 8 AM to 10 PM to her clients and colleagues, 7 days a week.
While work is fun, JoAnn also loves gardening, fitness activities including hiking and most exercise, pets, music, traveling, and the Naples BEACH! Her faith in God and community outreach and helping others less fortunate are of paramount importance, along with friends and family. Groups through whom she has given back in Naples include the Shelter for Abused Women and Children, Naples Equestrian Challenge, Collier Cat Alliance, Collier Humane Society, and various church and individual community outreach opportunities, including a weekend food bank for elementary school kids, and elder services.
JoAnn's real estate honors include receiving the Five-Star Professional Real Estate Award for the past 6 or 7 years, and annual broker awards for high sales volume, and equally importantly she is highly respected by her colleagues in the real estate profession. She is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Florida Association of Realtors, and the Naples Area Board of Realtors.
Admittedly she's forgotten the author, but her reminder to herself she reads daily upon opening her computer is: "The best criticism of the bad is the practice of the better."
